Reverence for the Light and Sound

When we observe new things we immediately try to understand them through previous knowledge and experience. We do this to feel in control and empowered. If on the other hand we were to admit that we didn’t actually understand something, then we put ourselves in a position of weakness and relinquish our power. This is exactly what we should be doing when meditating on the Light and Sound.

Just a moment’s thought will tell us that the Light that we see in meditation, after Initiation, is not physical and is not being perceived with our physical eyes. It is through the brow centre or “third eye” that the Light enters our body. (do remember if you are using the techniques not to press too hard or you will stimulate the phosphenes in your retinas and this will produce physical effects). Many of you will experience opening your eyes after a meditate and seeing both the physical and Spiritual Light simultaneously. It will then take a few moments for you to be able to see normally again, as the Spiritual Energy will outshine the physical at first before fading slowly away. Similar effects will occur with the Sound, demonstrating that its origin is not from within the physical realms.

If we can then accept the source of the Light and Sound is outside of our normal state of consciousness and that in Truth we don’t have any real way of comparing it, or indeed understanding it, then we need to cultivate a new way of looking at these Energies. Most of you will realize by now you can’t command or dictate to the Light and Sound. They turn up when you present the least resistance, which is often when you least expect it. For example: when you decide to stop meditating!

We understand that these Energies emanate from the high Spiritual Realms and should be thought of as being Alive and having Intelligence. (the energies we are aware of on Earth are mere reflections of those found in deep meditation). It is therefore appropriate to have a Reverence, Love and deep respect for any Energy that reveals itself to you. Try not to be greedy and want brighter Light and more entertaining Sound, just be happy and content with what you have.

Don’t expect the Light and Sound to turn up all the time, after all – you don’t!

Do talk to others about meditation, especially those who have been practicing for many years and don’t forget to use the forums. We want you to enjoy your meditations and not see them as an arduous exercise to achieve some spiritual status.

Never ever lose the Awe and Wonder – this Path is so Special.

In answer to your question we would certainly like to add some thoughts to what you have already written. Although you have done well there are other considerations we would wish to give.

This aspect of Meditation is probably the most important, as it gives the Seeker a way of not only gaining the most from his meditation but also will help him to focus far more and to understand the workings of Creation. When a feeling of total Awe and Wonder of the Light and Sound is achieved the “Magic” can then take place to transform the seeker and allow him to release the bonds that tie him to the Physical Planes.

This transports him to the Higher Dimensions in order to reach the goal of Liberation of the Body, Mind and Soul. A total Spiritual transformation which enables the Seeker to become One with Everything and realize that he is God: the Love that pervades all things.
